  • CARD

    A card used to make a record of a golf score.

  • CLOSED FACE

    When the clubface is pointed to the left of the target when the golfer strikes the golf ball.
  • CLOSED STANCE

    The left foot of the golfer extends over the balls usual line of flight while the right foot is positioned backwards.

    A position taken by the golfer with the right foot positioned back away from the golf ball.
  • CLUB HEAD

    The area of the golf club which strikes the golf ball.
  • CLUBHOUSE

    The focal building on the golf course.
  • COLLAR

    The grassy fringe around the putting green.
  • COMMITTEE

    The name for a group of people who are in charge of a golf competition or a golf course.
  • COMPRESSION

    The flattening of the ball against the clubface at impact. Also the degree of resilience of a ball.
  • CROSS HANDED GRIP

    A grip where the golfers left hand is beneath the right hand.
  • CUP

    The container in the golf hole on the putting green which holds the flagstick in place.
