    When striking a golf ball the golfer's right foot is higher than his left foot.
  • DOWNSWING

    The trajectory of a golf club when moving from the top of the swing to the striking of the golf ball.
  • DRAW SHOT

    An intentional hook shot used to get out of trouble or around an obstacle. A golf shot that swings the golf ball from left to right.
  • DRIVE

    To hit the golf ball with a driver club to achieve maximum distance. Usually from the tee.
  • DRIVER

    A specific golf club which achieves maximum possible distance for the golfer. Normally used on the tee.
  • DRIVING IRON

    Also called the number one iron. Achieves great distance for the golf ball.
  • DRIVING RANGE

    An area used for the practicing golf strokes.
  • DROP

    To place the golf ball on the golf course after the golf ball has been declared unplayable or after the golf ball has been lost.
  • DUFF

    To mishit a golf shot by first hitting the ground behind the ball with the golf club.
