  • FACE

  • FIVE WOOD

    A wooden golf club used to hit the golf ball between 200-230 yards.
  • FLAG

    The piece of material attached to the flagstick.
  • FLAGSTICK

    A marker showing the location of the hole.
  • FLANGE

    The surface part of the club head which protrudes at the sole.
  • FLAT SWING

    The type of golf swing that occurs when the club head is carried back in a flat trajectory.
  • FLEX

    The amount of stiffness of the golf club shaft.
  • FLIER

    A golf ball is hit without spin and goes for a greater distance than normal.
  • FLIGHT

    The trajectory and distance a golf ball travels when hit with a golf club.
  • FLIP SHOT

    A shot played near the putting green with a high trajectory with a highly lofted iron such as a wedge.
  • FOLLOW THROUGH

    The continuation of the swing after the golf ball has been struck.
  • FOUR BALL

    A match in which the better ball of two golfers is played against the better ball of their opponents
  • FOUR IRON

    An iron golf club used for distances of between 170 -190 yards.
  • FOUR WOOD

    A wooden golf club used for a distance of between 210-230 yards.
  • FOURSOME

    Four golfers playing together.
  • FREE DROP

    A drop where no penalty stroke is added to the golfer's score.
  • FRINGE

    The grass surrounding the putting green which is cut to a height lower than the fairway but not as short as the putting green itself.
